I'm a certified Special Education teacher (plus ELA and Mathematics endorsements) with nearly 20 years of experience working with learners of all abilities and all kinds of minds. That background is the whole foundation of how I coach: I don't believe there's one right way into a story or a book deal — wanting to get it done is the only qualification that's ever mattered.
I found my own way in — unconventional, self-taught, and unagented — and it worked: I'm the author of Kurt Cobain: Forever in Bloom (Skyhorse Publishing/Simon & Schuster distribution) — you can read more about it on my book page. I believe writing is a way of life, not a credential, and I coach people accordingly: as a non-conformist, for people who are figuring out their own path rather than following someone else's.
